Hand & Stone’s President and Chief Development Officer, John Teza, has been named Chairman of the 2021 Franchise Development Leadership Conference.
The annual event is designed for franchisor Founders, CEOs, Presidents, COOs, CDOs, and Franchise Development Executives.
The goal of the conference is to provide franchise development and c-suite executives with a forum where they can find the education and inspiration to help them grow their businesses. Central to this purpose has always been a focus on networking and personal connection.
“I am thrilled to represent Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa at this prestigious event for franchise industry thought leaders,” says Teza, who joined the spa franchise in August 2020. “I am also honored to have been selected to represent the talented members of the FLDC Advisory Committee, whose commitment to the conference continue to shape its content year after year.”
The conference is in its 21st year, and John has been an attendee since 2008. Since then, John explains how the content has gotten broader, primarily focusing on franchise sales and leadership, and has expanded into operations and marketing.
When asked what he’s looking forward to the most at this year’s conference, John explained, “I’m looking forward to the return of being in-person the most. I feel like the connections, fellowship, and networking are stronger in a physical setting. I’m also very interested to hear how our fellow franchisors have been affected by COVID-19 and, more importantly, how they are approaching a post-pandemic world.”
“So much has shifted in a really short period of time, and yet, the fundamentals of franchise development have not changed,” says Teza.
